The new location opens next weekend with concerts and performances on Friday and Saturday from Los Copiones, Suzette & More, the Rumi Art and Health Cultural Association, Abadá Capoeira and Artea-T.

The Councilor for Culture, David Tejeiro, presented this morning the new permanent stage located in the Battery Park, a project that was born with the aim of bringing culture closer to the neighborhoods and decentralizing the agenda of activities carried out by the Culture Area.
The mayor pointed out that “we really wanted to start this stage, conceived for small-format, non-massive shows, such as concerts of classical music, jazz, soul, etc., and also for children's and family activities, which we are going to to be able to enjoy this summer already”.
Close to the tower area and with a capacity of 85 people, the space "has been built in such a way that it is perfectly integrated into the environment, avoiding any negative visual impact and taking advantage of the park's own design," explained Tejeiro.
The inauguration will be this weekend with the performances scheduled at 9:00 p.m. by Los Copiones and Suzette & More on Friday the 18th, and the Amar Show, dance performances by Arte-T and a capoeira performance on Saturday the 19th.
“We wanted artists from Torremolinos to participate in the premiere. We can say that we are coming out of the pandemic and many and many of them have collaborated throughout this time to make the confinement and subsequent opening more bearable, animating the streets and participating in different events, so this scenario has to be of the people and for the people, we are going to inaugurate it with local artists”, highlighted the councilor.
In line with the line of promoting culture, the new stage is established as a new location to host activities for all audiences and among which there will be no shortage of children's programming, performing arts, small-format performances and proposals by emerging artists. A way to enhance the tourist-culture experience of Torremolinos and add attraction to residents and visitors.
The works have been carried out through a finalist grant from the Junta de Andalucía for the promotion of cultural projects and as Tejeiro has reiterated “with this we continue to fulfill our commitment to bring culture to the neighborhoods, on this occasion in a way that permanently to the Montemar Alto and El Pinillo area, and also taking advantage of the outdoor spaces, the best option after what we have lived and also for the future, since in Torremolinos we will be able to enjoy this scenario practically all year round”.
