Torremolinos, June 18, 2021.
The streets of Torremolinos will experience culture again in a close way this summer. The Councilor for Culture, David Tejeiro, presented this morning at the Casa de Los Navajas the summer program that returns loaded with music, cinema, activities for the whole family and performing arts.
As happened last summer, "from the area we have made a great effort to propose more than a hundred events during the next three months, of all kinds and for all tastes," explained the mayor, anticipating that there will be several cycles musicals, cinema in the neighborhoods and activities designed for children and young people spread throughout different parts of the municipality.
All the shows have been planned taking into account the security measures and limitations "that the health authorities are recommending to us right now." Tejeiro has pointed out that that is why the capacity is kept low, the use of a mandatory mask and the separation between seats.
The best of culture this summer passes through Torremolinos.
Culture will continue to reach the neighborhoods and for this reason “outdoor spaces such as sports courts and locations such as the new permanent stage of Parque de la Bateria, which hosts the Jazz & Blues Festival in June, July and August, continue to be used.”, has advanced the councilman.
A stage such as the Plaza de Toros is also recovered, which hosts both the Funky Town scheduled for July 23 with the performances of Javier Ojeda, Gordo Master, Julia Martín, Suzette Moncrieff, Noelia Sakura, the Big Band Málaga Funk Allstars and The Agapornis, such as the Rock Shuttle that will be held on July 2, 3, 9 and 10 with groups such as Víctima o Verdugo, Estrella Negra, 12-13 Reagge Band, Rubio Americano, Chico Quebranto, Ten Shots, La Calle Es Tuya, Mitad Double, Zyryb or Musikomanos. For these two cycles, admission will be free but it will be necessary to request an invitation through the email email@example.com.
Flamenco will move between the Casa de Los Navajas and the stages located in Plaza Federico García Lorca, Avda. Marifé de Triana, Plaza Chiriva, Plaza San Miguel and Cantarranas with the participation of Isaac de los Reyes, the company of Manuel Roldán and the flamenco painting by Fermín Calvo.
There will also be classical music with concerts of guitar, piano and the Málaga Provincial Youth Orchestra, and dance with the show ‘Contadora de Chickpeas’ by local artist Nieves Rosales.
Activities for all audiences
The cultural promotion agenda is completed with poetry recitals for the whole family, explorer workshops and games, storytelling, children's theater, art activities and the wet season.
To this is added the talent contest 'Get on the stage' "that we will present next week and for which we will have the collaboration of Torremolinos Televisión with performances in the Plaza San Miguel by new artists of the municipality", the councilor has detailed .
Tejeiro foresees a great cultural summer, "people really want to enjoy themselves and in Torremolinos they will have the possibility to do it practically every day". All the information can be consulted on the web www.torremolinoscultura.es.
