Piano Concert by Manuel López

On December 23, 2021, the last concert of "The Picasso concerts" will take place, this time we will be able to enjoy the Piano Concert of Manuel López, at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center in Torremolinos at 8:00 p.m.

Manuel López has a wide repertoire both soloist and chamber musician. He began his studies at the age of 4 in Madrid, and in 1995 he was the youngest student in the history of the Higher Conservatory of Music in Madrid to access the higher career with only 15 years, he also won the end of degree award and Honorable mention in 1998, Carlet City International Piano Prize (Valencia, 1997); Albacete city award and other various awards in national and international competitions.

Critics and national and international media endorse him with numerous recitals both nationally and internationally.

In 2018 he suffered a stroke as a result of a thalamotomy performed to alleviate the effects of focal dystonia in the right hand, a devastating disease for a musician that prevents controlled and normal movements, a condition that has been dragging on since 1999, more than 20 years, that prevents him from performing with his right hand, devoting all his effort to demonstrating to people that it is possible to play the piano with only the left hand. Since then, his only goal is to transmit the joy of living. Music can do everything.

In his own words "This is a concert of overcoming where I want to show people that both in music and in life there are no limits, you should never give up in the face of any adversity, if you love something do it regardless of your physical condition, I want you to this message reaches the whole world".
